Aloha & Mele Kalikimaka! Greeting from the island of Kauai! Where the weather is warm (even when its raining!) and the fruit is FRESH! We just moved back at the end of September and look forward to great things to come!
Cameron is working towards his Dive Master Certification, and once certified, he’ll be the “official” tour guide for Snuba Tours of Kauai. Until then, Cam is the “unofficial” tour guide and still gets to introduce people to the wonderful underwater world! When he’s not diving, he’s diving. Spear-fishing for Uhu, Kala and Manini has become a new hobby so it’s a good thing we like fish! When he’s not in the ocean, he’s making and fixing drums. He has been drumming at the high school soccer games and is getting quite a positive reaction. Cameron is also preparing to work at a Polynesian show with his Uncle drumming and possibly dancing. Cameron is also the Cub Master for Pack 105 as well as CTR 5 teacher in the Primary. He keeps busy!
Alicia is very much enjoying being a mother! Helping Makoa grow and learn has been very rewarding! In fact, we’re going to do it again. Yes. You read it right. We’re pregnant with baby #2 and due May 20th! We’re very excited and feel blessed to be able to be parents. Alicia has also been teaching people about the health benefits of dark chocolate, and is an independent distributor for the Healthy Chocolate, Xocai. She loves being part of such an exciting discovery! Alicia is still doing her photography and is waiting for her studio to get here, as we couldn’t bring EVERYTHING on the airplane with us! Alicia is the Wolf den leader in Pack 105 and teaches the CTR 5 Primary class with Cameron.
As of now, Maluhia & Ty (Cameron’s youngest brothers) are still living with us. (They’ve been living with us since May of 2006.) Malu is in 9th grade at Kapaa High School and is currently on the high school JV soccer team (which further inspired Cam to make drums for the games). When he’s not at practice every day after school, he’s spear-fishing with Cameron or relaxing, listening to his iPod shuffle, or playing his ukulele.
Ty is in 6th grade at Kapaa Middle School and loves it! He actually complains when there is no school! Ty has many friends and is doing well in all 7 of his classes. When Ty isn’t in school, he is outside playing with his friends and brothers. Ty also likes to spear-fish with Cameron & Malu and caught his very first fish which he learned to gut himself!
Makoa will be one year old on the 28th of December and is growing right before our eyes! He is walking and almost running. His favorite foods are bananas, saimin, chocolate, lollipops and, well, just about anything we’re eating at the time! He’s not quite talking yet - well, not saying anything in English that we understand anyway! He definitely has a language all his own and has discovered yelling and banging. It’s not uncommon to find him walking around with a spoon, stick, flute or toy banging the walls, people, or pots.
2007 has been fun and exciting but we are ready for 2008! We’ll see what new adventure lay in store for us! May you all have a wonderful 2008 and may you accomplish all your goals for this up-coming year!
Love & Aloha,
Cameron, Alicia, Malu, Ty and Makoa States
