VOG

You've heard of fog, sure. If you live in Utah you've heard of smog. But vog? Yes, in Hawaii we are experiencing VOG. Volcano Fog. I dont know how it all works or what it is exactly... but the volcano on the Big Island is creating vog here on Kauai... weird. It just makes it feel over cast and a bit smoggy.

Anywho! My baby sister, Steph, had her 11th birthday party today... which happens to be the birthday of my now-17 year old brother, Tyler! Tyler is on Oahu for the weekend because he qualified for states in the High Jump... so he didnt care that we celebrated her on his birthday. ( He wouldn't have minded even if he were here... such sweet kid!)

The highlight was seeing my niece, Sianni. She is so precious! For those of you who may not know, she is the daughter of my brother, Ryan who died in July 2006. We get to see her on special occassions like birthdays and some holidays... anyway seeing her tonight was so fun! She got to meet her new cousin, Ezekiel, who she kept calling her brother. She and Makoa get along just great! I dont think kids really have a concept of what a cousin is at that age, but it's still fun to see them get along. The best is seeing my parents be grandparents... 3 grandchildren now! Megan, you need to get on it! Go ahead and move back to Utah... you're probably not going to find a guy who will marry you here... ;) We need to keep the cousins comin'!
