"Sepia" Babies

Here are some pictures I played with in Photoscape (a FREE Image Editing Software)  of my sweet/little/active/dramatic/strong boys.

Ezekiel is holding his head up nicely, scooting around on his tummy, ALMOST rolling over, ALMOST sitting up by himself! Did I mention he weighed 18 1/2 lbs at his 4 month check up?!?! I know he's not the biggest baby ever... but Makoa definitely was not this big at this age! So it's exciting to me. His mom.

Makoa has an obsession with water. He also has a current obsession with jumping. You may notice that this little pool is upside-down and inside-out with a few inches of water sitting in it. Whatever Makoa can find to jump off of, he will. Last time it was an upside-down bucket. This time, he found himself a chair. "Watch" the next few shots as if they're part of  a slow-motion no-talking, black and white "moving" picture...

He did this over and over and over (and over) until I decide I  had had enough... and pretty much had to drag him kicking, and screaming back into the house. But thankfully he is easily distracted by chocolate.

Make sure you always keep a close eye on him. My son loves to jump. A few weeks ago, he was sitting on the our horse and decided he was done being on the horse and totally bailed off the saddle down to the ground. That's almost a 6-foot drop. Thank goodness for soft grass to cushion his fall--I mean, jump. Then last week, we were at my aunty's house and I was talking story, while my son played with the other kids in the backyard (there was adult supervision). Before long, my cousin is bringing me my child who is crying hysterically. I ask what happens and guess what he says. He JUMPED out of the tree house!!!! That's right, he just launched himself from about 12 feet up. He's got some major thrill issues. And when I asked him why he jumped, you know what he said??? "Because I like to jump." I could've slapped 'em right there. I was so mad. He's lucky he didn't land on his head or break any bones. And thank goodness he didn't because if I had to call Karen and tell her that her son was in the hospital because he jumped out of a tree house, I probably would've had to sleep in that tree house for a few days! (Oh, and for the record, I don't slap my kids...I just think it very very often.)
