So... here's a first for me! Eye brow waxing! I've been wanting to give it a try because, well, lets face it - plucking is a pain. So I went to my good friend who works at a Salon... and she did a great job. However, I didn't expect to get waxed between my brows, above my brows, and below them. The pain was what I expected... but the redness... oh boy, the redness... It looked so bad, I didn't want to do any of my other errands because I was too embarrassed.
(Lets see if I can explain this effectively. My friend, Lainie, who did the honors, just finished Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, so naturally, she has pale-skinned beings on the mind. She goes on to tell me that when she reads about the white, pale skin the story, she thinks of me... because I have the "fairest" skin she knows. Now, this was a defining point for me. Having grown up on Kauai, naturally, I have always wanted brown or at least tan skin. But if you know me, you know I can't hold a tan unless I LIVE in the sun. (Which I don't). So truth be told, I could probably pass as a vampire... dark eyes and fangs would top it off. And for once in my life, being compared to a pale-skinned character in a Stephenie Meyer story did NOT offend me. Am I nerd? Yes, I suppose I am. I actually took this comparison as a compliment! Hey maybe I can get casted in a future film... ! Being in Utah for the Winter might do wonder for me new-found self esteem. I can finally feel a little proud to be so fair-skinned!)
ANYWAY The redness went away a little after I got home, and put straight aloe (from the plant!) on it. It feels like a minor sunburn... but in all honesty, now that I know what to expect, I would do it again. I like my eyebrows now. Shallow, sure. But at least I wont have to tweeze for a while!

so rolling on the floor laughing! I so know what you mean. Even when I am tan, everytime I wax I am bright red. I always leave that as my last errand. It is amazing though and can't wait to get mine done tonight! Yippee! The things that make me happy eh?
Too funny!! I do get what you mean, and as a person that is 'tan' I too get red, but it's an instant face lift...not that you need it!! So when are you moving here? Not to be selfish, but you should consider Lehi!! I love it here, we're right next to Lowes. And there is a townhome here for rent right now!! Can't wait to see you! Kris
OUCH thats all I can say I have a friend that used to do mine all the time for FREE I loved it ..but know I pretty much just have a unibrow [:(
Hahaha oh stop! It doesn't hurt htat bad! (says a seven year waxing/lazing -of-practically-everpalce veteran : )
No, its not shallow. Something about hte eyebrows makes the whoile face look nice and 'put together'. Look how much ebtter Sandra Bullock looks in Miss Congeniality. Its the eyebrows man!
