Don't You "Shush" me!

This story is a little embarrassing on my part, but I think it's just too funny not to record.

On Halloween Day, I was driving Makoa and Ziek to the mall for a little trick-or-treating. And the Drive to the mall was absolutely beautiful! The trees were all sorts of fall colors and the wind was blowing just enough that leaves were practically raining off the trees... it was such a beautiful scene! It made me want to sing! (Note:This doesn't happen often).

It was just me and my boys in the car, so I figured "what the heck!" And I just started belting songs that came to mind. Some were made up (the lyrics went along the lines of "spiderman" and "trick-or-treating" and "mom has a spider on her face".... you get the idea)... and some were my own versions of my favorite primary songs...

I'm totally into it, absolutely enjoying myself when I hear a "ssshhhh" coming from the back seat! (No! I'm not kidding!). I adjusted my rearview mirror to check on my little spiderman (it could only have been one person) and he's just staring out the window. So, of course, I just keep on going...

I hear another "Ssshhh". I glance in the rearview mirror and this time I ask, "Did you just 'shush' me?".

Makoa looks at me with his little halfsmile. And I ask/accuse him again "Did you 'shush' mom?"

And he just gives me that silly smile - which blows any cover he may have had.

"You totally shushed me! Makoa! You don't want mom to sing?!"

He just looks out the window and doesn't  say anything (but he's smiling).

So I start singing again!

"Ssshhh. Mom!"

I start laughing. Oh man. That's pretty bad if my own 22 month old is shushing me! Maybe it's just because I'm singing so loud. ... Maybe I suck.

No, I didn't stop. I kept singing right up until we turned into the mall. Makoa didn't seem to mind too much that I didn't stop.

But HELLO! I got shushed!

Too funny.

That is tooo cute.

My mom often would tell me that she used to sing to me, and that all stopped the day I clamped my hand over her mouth to shush her. I had to have been only 16 months at the time. lol. Poor her...Poor you.

But No if I remember right...you sang beautifully!
