Random Ramblings.

Inspired by Carli. These are random happenings, updates, and thoughts from the past week or so that I have neglected to blog. It's long.

- I went with my cousin to a Mary Kay meeting, and later had brunch with Monica, her director, and my cousin. I am very impressed with the company as a whole. I love that it's not just about the makeup. Mary Kay is a well established, woman empowering company that I am seriously considering joining. I would love to be a part of something that is not only encourages self-reliance, but is a support group, a network for women, a haven, a place for mothers to regain their own identity... an opportunity. If you know me, this is right up my alley. Wanna check it out with me?

- In that same week I had the opportunity to attend a Dinner Development with Photographer, Naomi Masina. She. Is. Amazing. It may sound cheesy, and cliche, but really, truly, she has inspired me. Not only is she an accomplished Photographer, she is a wonderfully encouraging individual. I left that evening excited to practice the things I had learned!

-The same night I got home from the Dinner Development, Cameron called me with the sad news that he had been laid off. No, I'm not kidding. There is very very little work for the company he was with and 15 guys got laid off that day. I was supposed to drive up to Vegas the next day. Anyway, he's looking into some other opportunities this week. Everything happens for a reason.

- My boys are troopers. Really. I think God knew what was in store for us and gave me these boys not only because they seem to be handling change well, but because they strengthen me.

- I know I have lots of plate spinning right now... so many projects and opportunities... but I really want to create income and help Cameron with our financial goals. I hope I am not taking on more than I can handle.

- I bought myself my Christmas Presents. The Twilight Soundtrack, and a Tshirt from Hot Topic that says "Twilight" on the front, and "The Forbidden Fruit Tastes the Sweetest" on the back. I. Am. Obsessed. It's bad. I see the books in the store and emotions flood me. I've been trying not to complicate my love for the book series with love for the movie/actors. I have low expectations for the film (in comparison with the books) but want my Bella and Edward fix. I have a whole monologue on why I love love LOVE this series... but that is an entire post in itself. I'll save it for later.

- I had a bad day a week or so ago. I didn't get much sleep, woke up much to early, and a 2 hour drive took at least 3 1/2. BECAUSE.... I was driving on I-15 and got pulled over by a cop. I hate that. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it! I couldn't think what I could have possibly done! Well, the cop comes over and tells me "The reason I pulled you over is because I'm worried about your tire, let me take a look at it." He checks out my front right tire. "You've got a nail in your tire that looks like it's been there for a while, and you're tire is seperating. You need to get this fixed as soon as possible." Holy Crap. And I was convinced it was just the alignment. So I get off the freeway at the next exit and go on a small goose chase searching for the tire place "In and Out" (Emissions place) referred me to, where they promptly changed my tire for me, and only charged $50. The "goose chase" was worth it. Crazy, huh? My bad day could have been much, much worse.

- Ezekiel now has 6 teeth. And. He. Bites. 'Nuff said.

- My Grandma is the best grandma in the world. I love her.

- I miss my husband terribly. I am tempted to stay at a "weekly" in Vegas so I can see him. My boys miss him too. They just don't know how to express it. But I can tell.

Until Next Time...

2 things:
1) if you see Naomi again, tell her that Ikaika and Karen say hello!

2) what exactly did they do to your tire. $50 seems too cheap for a tire replacement. if they did replace the entire tire, then $50 is a steal. if they just fixed your tire (a.k.a. took out the nail and put a plug in it), then that should've only cost you about $15-$20. if they replaced your bad tire with your spare, you better start looking for a new one soon! good luck!
