We love the zoo! Well, Makoa does. There is something so satisfying about seeing him get excited about seeing animals. His favorites: "Melman" (Giraffe), "Marti" (Zebra), monkeys, snakes, elephants, and the tiger. Ezekiel just cruises in his stroller observing all the kids running around. I think his favorite part is when we let him walk around in the small critter place. He gets crazy happy squealing/yelling while checking out all the funny looking "dogs". Cam's favorite part is the bird show. I have to agree, it's a must see! But the highlight of this excursion was the day-old giraffe! It was born the day before and was already out enjoying the sun! It was fascinating to watch how its mother interacted with it. I could just tell she's a good momma! I got some precious shots too!
There are a bunch more on my photoblog. Another highlight was seeing the baby Snow Leopard. It's an endangered species, so... it was that much more impressive. :)
Cute, yah?
Of course, the company was the best part about the day! Our day was shared with 2 friends of mine and their children, my in laws (all of the the States cousins!), my Aunty Michol and Paul, and my cousin, Natalie, and her family! We didn't all move in a herd, but met up periodically throughout the day. It was a blast! I did get a handful of pictures of Makoa, Ka'imi and their cousins though!
(all 5 States cousins, Kekai, Ka'imi, Makoa, Kiki & Manu)
(Ty being the cool/fun Uncle)
(I love this picture of Kiki!)
(Uncle Ty with his nieces and nephews, minus Ka'imi who was restrained to the stroller!)
The weather wasn't too bad, and the memories made were well worth the hassle of getting there! One of the elephants is due to have her baby in the next few weeks... I suppose that will give us an excuse to go back and do it all over again!!
