It's been ridiculously hot lately. And humid. So - (because THREE fans blowing wasn't doing the trick) Cameron (in a, literally, heated rage) made a Walmart trip just to buy the must durable, Makoa-Proof, heavy duty, hurricane imitator, "Stanley"-the-Manley fan ever sold at a Walmart Store (on Kauai). Problem Solved.
If you've been to Kauai, you may have noticed there are VERY few (like maybe 5) places to eat breakfast. My recommendation, EggBerts. I went to breakfast with a few friends this morning and had the ham and cheese omlette (not usually a fan) with the fried rice - WOW! Where has that been all my life?! Seriously, it was surprisingly scrumptious. The great company helped ;)
Random phone pictures... here are a few pictures I downloaded off of my phone (razor, not that great of quality, but oh well.)
He's getting so big too fast! I still haven't gotten around to taking his Black & Whites! I will, soon.
I'm almost done with "The Scarlet Letter". I'm actually really enjoying it. If you haven't ever read it, I recommend it when you have some (very) down-time. It has a very old-fashion English style writing. I love it, but sometimes you have a re-read the line/paragraph a few times to figure out what's really going on.
Assistant Cub Master. I guess you could say I've been promoted (HA!) from Boy Scout Den Leader to Boy Scout Assistant Cub Master. If you didn't know, or haven't guessed, Cameron (my dear, dear husband) is the Cub Master. So pretty much I get to keep doing what I've been doing and then some - but now it's official... and I am now expected to do what I've been doing voluntarily as a wife... I don't know how I feel about this yet. (Side Note: Cameron has been struggling with his calling... it is a lot of responsibility. So I've been feeling some of the stress... but now I really have to step up and help him, where as before I could bail if he was driving me crazy...)
Anyone ever order the "Aptitude Test" for Writing Children's Books? I did and I just got it. Haven't done it yet. Don't think I want to take the course (money issues) right now anyway. Anyone else have an thoughts on this course? (It's the one you usually see in parenting magazines). It would be so awesome to publish a children's book! (Or many.)
Did I mention it's 12:41am? Holy Crap. I just looked at the time I feel like it's a lot earlier because I took a 3 1/2 hour nap this evening with Ezekiel while Cam took Makoa to a baptism at the church. The nap was fantastic. But now it's ridiculously late.
I'm watching Makoa sleeping and he's smiling in his sleep - SO PRECIOUS. Can I just lock that memory in a special place in my brain and retrieve it 20 years from now?! Please! I love that kid so much it makes me cry. Being a mommy is the best (even at it's worst!)
Good Night, Moon!
