Hm… a day in the life of me…

It’s 9pm on a Monday night. The little boys are finally asleep… and by finally I mean, I’ve been anxious for them to go to bed since about 3pm.

My shirt has playdough on it. It also has dry erase marker, specks of chocolate milk, orange finger prints from BBQ chips, and a now-crusty spot on my shoulder where a snotty, crying 2 year old wiped his nose on me.

I am a mom.

I didn’t even put a bra on today.

I did, however, do 5 loads of laundry!

I also put away/hung up all of my clothes that were gathering in a pile in front of my closet!

I skipped exercising (again) because I don’t want to go out in the cold… even if it is only up the street to the rec center.

I listened to this talk while cleaning my room. LOVED IT!

I also got pretty giddy when I received The Ensign, New Era and The Friend in the mail today. It’s the little things that keep me sane.

I made pb&j sandwiches for lunch. I made pizza bites for dinner. I know, we’re practically a 5 star restaurant. I even made a meal plan for this week and tonight was supposed to be a corn/potato soup… but I forgot until my kids were insisting they were too hungry to wait. So… pizza bites it was! They weren’t even that great.

I was on my hands and knees twice before noon wiping/cleaning/scrubbing the floor. First it was a spilled bowl of cereal. Then it was blue playdough… how they broke it up into that many itty bitty pieces and got it all over the kitchen floor/chairs/table kind of amazed me! As sorely tempted as I was to throw it all in the trash, it really was my fault because I was concentrating (read: “ignoring my kids”) on making a cute “name calling = 1 extra chore” jar, where we have to put our name on a slip of paper into a jar when we call anyone a name (notice I wrote “we” and not “they”… anyway!"). Each slip of paper is redeemable for one extra chore (of my choice).

I didn’t get a shower tonight because all the hot water was used by the 15 year old doing the dishes (yes, by hand!). I was very much looking forward to that (the shower, that is). The 17 year old will get home from work and use whatever hot water may have been left. The one thing that would ruin my day would be running out of HOT water. I know, I’m a spoiled brat.

I was going to finish cleaning up the little boys’ room today, but Makoa wasn’t doing his share so I stopped. I am not about to be picking up toys I did not dump out, throw around or play with. I’m a mean mom.

I started putting away/folding the clothes in Cameron’s [huge, and growing] pile next to the door. But then I got distracted and forgot to finish.

I bleached the curtains that hang up in our bathroom. They look amazing. So does my white Victoria’s Secret bath robe that I got at my bridal shower from Cam’s aunts. Even 6 months pregnant, that XS/S robe still looks great! HAHAHAHA. HA. HA.

Oh yeah, I’m 26 weeks pregnant! I would love to get a cute shot of my growing belly… but I’m just not feeling cute right now. So it will have to wait… until the baby comes… and I get back to my pre-FIRST-pregnancy weight.

I love my haircut. 8 inches – GONE. It feels great and I love the highlight/lowlights I got. I would love to get a cute shot of my new haircut…but I’m just not feeling cute right now. So it will have to wait… until the baby comes… and I get back to my pre-FIRST-pregnancy weight… :p

Life is goooood.
