Couldn’t decide which one I preferred so here’s both!
37 weeks with baby #3. I THINK we have finally decided on a name… but I’m not telling yet =)

Ka’imi, dressed in an oversized Storm Trooper costume, tripped and bonked his head on the corner of a wall. Crying, he climbed onto my bed to me. As I held him like a newborn (he’s almost 3), I had one of those moments I wish I could freeze forever. He had blue toothpaste in his hair, tears slowly slipping down his cheek onto my shirt, chocolate around the edges of his mouth and on his full lips. It was absolutely precious.
Just posting this “for the record”. It’s getting mighty uncomfortable being pregnant. We only have about 7 more weeks to go… ish. My due date is all over the place because I didn’t get to the Dr. early enough for an accurate measurement/guess. I guess this kid will come when he’s good and ready and that will be that. Not much else to say about it… just thought I’d throw this oh-so-cute (not) picture up before I forgot.
It’s 9pm on a Monday night. The little boys are finally asleep… and by finally I mean, I’ve been anxious for them to go to bed since about 3pm.
My shirt has playdough on it. It also has dry erase marker, specks of chocolate milk, orange finger prints from BBQ chips, and a now-crusty spot on my shoulder where a snotty, crying 2 year old wiped his nose on me.
I am a mom.
I didn’t even put a bra on today.
I did, however, do 5 loads of laundry!
I also put away/hung up all of my clothes that were gathering in a pile in front of my closet!
I skipped exercising (again) because I don’t want to go out in the cold… even if it is only up the street to the rec center.
I listened to this talk while cleaning my room. LOVED IT!
I also got pretty giddy when I received The Ensign, New Era and The Friend in the mail today. It’s the little things that keep me sane.
I made pb&j sandwiches for lunch. I made pizza bites for dinner. I know, we’re practically a 5 star restaurant. I even made a meal plan for this week and tonight was supposed to be a corn/potato soup… but I forgot until my kids were insisting they were too hungry to wait. So… pizza bites it was! They weren’t even that great.
I was on my hands and knees twice before noon wiping/cleaning/scrubbing the floor. First it was a spilled bowl of cereal. Then it was blue playdough… how they broke it up into that many itty bitty pieces and got it all over the kitchen floor/chairs/table kind of amazed me! As sorely tempted as I was to throw it all in the trash, it really was my fault because I was concentrating (read: “ignoring my kids”) on making a cute “name calling = 1 extra chore” jar, where we have to put our name on a slip of paper into a jar when we call anyone a name (notice I wrote “we” and not “they”… anyway!"). Each slip of paper is redeemable for one extra chore (of my choice).
I didn’t get a shower tonight because all the hot water was used by the 15 year old doing the dishes (yes, by hand!). I was very much looking forward to that (the shower, that is). The 17 year old will get home from work and use whatever hot water may have been left. The one thing that would ruin my day would be running out of HOT water. I know, I’m a spoiled brat.
I was going to finish cleaning up the little boys’ room today, but Makoa wasn’t doing his share so I stopped. I am not about to be picking up toys I did not dump out, throw around or play with. I’m a mean mom.
I started putting away/folding the clothes in Cameron’s [huge, and growing] pile next to the door. But then I got distracted and forgot to finish.
I bleached the curtains that hang up in our bathroom. They look amazing. So does my white Victoria’s Secret bath robe that I got at my bridal shower from Cam’s aunts. Even 6 months pregnant, that XS/S robe still looks great! HAHAHAHA. HA. HA.
Oh yeah, I’m 26 weeks pregnant! I would love to get a cute shot of my growing belly… but I’m just not feeling cute right now. So it will have to wait… until the baby comes… and I get back to my pre-FIRST-pregnancy weight.
I love my haircut. 8 inches – GONE. It feels great and I love the highlight/lowlights I got. I would love to get a cute shot of my new haircut…but I’m just not feeling cute right now. So it will have to wait… until the baby comes… and I get back to my pre-FIRST-pregnancy weight… :p
Life is goooood.
“Our Church leaders have counseled us to establish righteous patterns in our homes. Consider five fundamental practices that have the power to fortify our youth: family prayer, family scripture study, family home evening, family dinner together, and regular one-on-one interviews with each child… Imagine what the rising generation could become if these five righteous patterns were practiced consistently in every home. Our young people would be like Helaman’s army: invincible.”

When Makoa was 20 months old, I had a little photo shoot with him at this same spot with his jeans on – no shirt. I think it would be neat to have a photo shoot at this same spot every time we go back!
Do you recognize the Michael Jackson moves? lol (If you didn’t, it inspired picture #2)
This photo shoot was pretty much a mother’s nightmare. Makoa would not be “normal” or just give me a REAL smile! He’s such a ham in front of the camera.
Ka’imi was pretty much traumatized. He didn’t like the wind. He didn’t like the sound of the waves. He didn’t like the water. He didn’t want to walk on the sand. He didn’t want to look the camera… (I could go on). He was only content being held, or sitting, securely, on a big rock.
It’s a miracle I got the shots I did. It would probably have put me in the loony bin if my brother, Josh, wasn’t there with us. He and I were all but doing hand stands to try and get them to look. Trying to get them to take a picture together was an utter and complete failure. I have approximately ZERO “nice” pictures of them together.
But life goes on.
And as the years pass, I’m positive I will absolutely cherish these photos, and all but forget what I went through to get them… ;)
Here are a few pictures I took of Makoa and Ka'imi playing around at home... I needed some recent ones of them! Makoa was happy to jump off of the couches, climb on the stairs and do his animal impressions (see "roar" and "glare" at end of series). I can hardly believe Makoa will be three in 4 short months! Ka'imi is 15 months old now, with 16 teeth and he cruises like he's been walking/running for a lot longer than 3 months! They really are buddies and Ka'imi is exceptionally patient and tolerant of Makoa's constant rough housing and bugging... but Ka'imi doesn't seem to mind one bit... in fact he loves it and is constantly laughing at his big brother! (Unless, it's a "sharp" pain, Ka'imi doesn't complain much.) I truly love these boys and can't imagine my life without them!
Have you ever taken your kid(s) to a late night movie at a theater because you didn't want to go through the hassle of getting a babysitter, thinking that they would "just sleep through it" and they DON'T?!
Wish I could have seen that one coming!
Now we know, right? Now we know that babysitters are a key to my sanity. Now we know that no matter how well I think I know my boys, they are just full of surprises. Now I know that if I want to spend any quality time with my husband, it's not gonna happen with the boys around (at least not at this point of our lives). Now I know that it's truly, truly embarrassing to deal with fussy kids in a room where ZERO talking is expected, and how embarrassing it is to have to walkout, across and in front of people, to exit said room. Maybe having Makoa kick someone's head on the way out.
Needlesstosay. No quality time was achieved.
What. So. Ever.
For my dad, I made him this... (just in a 5x7 print).
He liked it. :)
And Cam got a home-made sign that said "Happy Fathers Day"... that took me WAY longer to make than I thought it would! He also got lots of hugs, kisses and a heart-felt letter from moi. Not too exciting you might be thinking. But we're like that. We don't really buy gifts for one another on holidays... we buy them sporadically through the year... and it "counts" for holidays. It takes a lot of pressure off of just getting something/anything for the holiday. A few months back, I got Cameron his early Father's Day gift. So we're good. :)
I don't know how many of you reading our family blog also read my "main stream mommy blog" Imma Momma, but I apologize for the many duplicated blog posts. I tend to neglect this blog sometimes, but I'm trying to do better... especially "journaling".
Our home is finally coming together. After sleeping on an air mattress for the past... oh... 5 months, we finally got a bed. Killer deal off of KSL. Great bed. Though I still don't get to sleep through the night thanks to my little mini-men. They made it through most of the night in their own beds, but alas. I have probably had 2 or 3 nights in the past year+ that I've had a full nights sleep. True story. Needlesstosay, I'm much more scatterbrained than I ever thought possible. Sometimes it's even embarrassing.
Have a great day!
I couldn't help but post these! It's been a while since I've had any pictures taken with my boys... and these were just so fun! See Makoa's scowl? I don't know where that came from but it's cute anyway. Ka'imi didn't really know what was going on, but was a good sport! You can click on them, but they don't get that much bigger...
I Love being a Momma!!!
Ka'imi was not feeling very well yesterday. He threw up twice in the morning just before I was going to my in-laws. So I decided to hold off with a little car trip and keep an eye on him and see if he did any better. I wasn't sure if it was a bug or just something he happened to eat...
Well, he fell asleep and took a little nap and when he woke up I happened to be playing with my phone camera with Makoa...
So I tried to get a picture with both of the boys, but Makoa wasn't having it. So I snapped this with just Ka'imi...
and right After I snapped that... he did this...
Look familiar?! Seriously!! (Yes, that's my knee!) I'm becoming a professional carpet cleaner... (minus that whole paid part!)
When's a girl gonna get a break?!
Poor Baby. I hate throwing up. It is absolutely one of the worst feelings!

Holy smokes. I about had a nervous breakdown this morning! I've been wanting to take pictures of the boys in their new outfits, but can no longer do it on my own since there are 2 of them plus I take the pictures... so Cam finally agreed to help me out this morning. But I had NO IDEA what I was getting into. I figured it would be "easy" enough, Makoa has always been a pretty good model and as long as 'Imi stays happy...
Yah. Right. I have advanced (digressed?) to a whole 'nother level of "photographer". I have never before wanted to swat my "subject"... but Makoa was absolutely terrible! He would not sit still for more than a millisecond for his own picture let alone trying to get him to hold the baby, or be NEAR the baby for that matter. The pictures we did get are a true, modern day MIRACLE! The lighting just wasn't working for me, so I opted for Black and White which, believe me, looks a lot better than in color in this instance.
Anyway, it was way stressful trying to get them to be still, look and the camera and then snapping the shot before one of them moved/cried/hit/fell/blinked/stopped smiling... I think you get the picture (no pun intended). Not a very good time of day for either of them. I don't even think I dare go for a re-shoot. These just might have to do for Makoa's 18 (slash 19) month pictures and Ka'imi's 3 months.
Holy Smokes. Anyway, thank goodness their cute. Enjoy!
This last one is my favorite. Seriously, a Miracle.
