Yesterday, Cameron went golfing in the morning.
When he got home, we drove to Lawai Beach where Makoa and Ka'imi tried SNUBA diving for the first time! They haven't even snorkeled before. My dad owns SNUBA Tours of Kaua'i, and was able to teach the boys how to breathe underwater! My sister, Megan, met us at the beach and watched Ikaika so that Cameron and I could go dive with them, and they did great considering they've only been in the ocean once before (two years ago!) and it was a little windy so the water wasn't still. They got tired after a little while of trying to stay on top (their natural tendency was to swim to the top, which they don't know how to do) so we put them on top the SNUBA rafts and they just put their heads in the water over the side and they did really great then! We saw all kinds of tropical fish and they each held their own Sea Cucumber with their names written in the sand on the bodies. My dad got a little bit of video of our adventure (and it was!) that we watched this morning. The boys got so excited about it they asked if they could go again today! =) We'll probably take them again some time next week. I'll try to upload the video this weekend... it's a short, but fun one.
Afterwards, we ate lunch with Megan and my dad at Sueoka's Snack Shop. Everything was great! I had a hamburger (I really worked up an appetite with all that swimming!) and we also ordered some fried shrimp, some kind of chicken wings that my boys "killed" (devoured), and the most amazing teriyaki beef I have ever tasted, and I mean it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
We went home, and Cameron's cute cousin, Kenna, stopped by. It was fun to visit with her and I can hardly believe she's a Senior in High School this year!
Later, we went to Fun Factory but not before we stopped at "Papayas" to buy a few "ear candles" that my siblings want to try. More on that later when we use them.
Fun Factory was a big hit. The boys had a blast playing video games and my sisters had plenty of tickets to share so the boys got a few fun prizes too, some of which didn't even survive out the door! (Like the Whoopie Cushion. Makoa brought it back to me with a tear in it and told me, "I'm too heavy!" I guess he popped it. LOL!) Makoa and Ka'imi played a game of air hockey, which ended with a score of 7:4 in Makoa's favor. Ka'imi took the loss pretty hard and it was a teaching moment for Cameron. Why is it so funny when he throws a fit? It shouldn't be. Maybe it's because he doesn't do it too often, or he's just that stinkin' cute. I got some of it on video. I can almost guarantee it won't be as funny the second time, though.
After Fun Factory we got some Mochi Icecream from the coffee shop next door. Now, I've had the strawberry, vanilla and chocolate before and we LOVE it... but this place had Key Lime, Lilikoi (Passion Fruit), Guava.... and those flavors were like a party in my mouth. A little pricey, but we love Mochi Ice Cream so we had to try it!
Megan bought stuff to make crab/cream cheese wontons, and Cameron bought stuff for Gyoza... so we headed home and I got to stuff 150 wontons. It was all delicious.
Good times. I hope I didn't forget too much. Here are picture of the boys on the carousel and red convertible.
